SCHOOL VISITS

Wellington Zoo is a unique living classroom giving students the opportunity to learn about the natural world up close. The Zoo encompasses the sights, smells, sounds and touch of animals and their surroundings. Studying a gibbon swing through the trees, watching chimps figure out behavioural enrichment or getting face to face with a blue tongue skink will enhance your visit and enthuse your students about wildlife.

Our Journey of Discovery learning sessions are tailor made to the needs of each class, and we can accommodate students of all ages, from Year 1 through to tertiary level.

Our Journeys of Discovery cover topics as diverse as primate evolution, animal adaptations and the impact people have on Earth and its ecosystems. Each session is curriculum linked, we help you plan your visit to make it as interactive and hands on as possible and provide resources to extend learning opportunities after your trip to the Zoo.
