Venues
Wild Theatre
Wellington Zoo's Wild Theatre is an excellent space to host your next function. This unique venue will make your event unforgettable. The Wild Theatre has seating for up to 270 people and is set in the middle of the Zoo allowing for easy access and a great flow from the venue to the Zoo grounds.
There are also large doors that open to allow all the atmosphere of the Zoo in. The stage area is a perfect spot for your food and beverages and your guests can mingle amongst the bleachers.
Archibald Centre
The Archibald Centre is a function and seminar room set in the Zoo grounds with a deck extending over the islands of the Tropical River Trail. The room overlooks the spider and capuchin monkeys that free-range on their island as the pelicans, native scaup and brown teal cruise the surrounding lake. It is the perfect setting for weddings, and corporate events.
African Savannah
This is an outdoor venue overlooking our newest exhibit, the African Savannah. Stand on the deck and look out over giraffe, antelope and ostrich. With the most unique view in Wellington, the African Savannah deck is the ideal place for an intimate summer function. This stunning location is available during daylight saving from 5.00pm - 8.30pm (October - March), discounted Zoo entry rates apply.
Living Room
This is an ideal venue for smaller groups, you be surrounded by fun things like live animals such as the chinchilla, skink, and gecko, loads of feathers, scales and bones to touch. This room is available from 4pm weekdays, all day weekend and public holidays.
Historic Elephant House
Once the home of the elephants, this unusual venue has unlimited access to the public areas of the Zoo. You are welcome to spread out in to surrounding areas. Large groups have successfully used this space.
Nigalya Ponya Valley (Red Panda Enclosure)
This is an outdoor venue surrounding the area where our red pandas live. It has one of the best views in the Zoo. This area is available during summer (November - March) 5.00pm - 8.30pm

Guided Tours
We offer informative group guided tours that allow you to see behind the scenes, encounter the animals, and learn about the lives of the native, exotic and endangered species that live at the Zoo.
Invite some animals to your function
For just $100, our Zoo guides will bring two friendly animals to visit you and your guests in your Zoo venue. Make your day more memorable with a visit from some of the Zoo's most interesting inhabitants.

Guinea pig
The encounter will last approximately 30 minutes. The animals that come to the event will be at least two species from this list, we cannot guarantee the appearance of any particular animal.
