Husbandry Advisor

Wellington Zoo would like to congratulate Mauritz Basson, the Zoo's Life Sciences Manager, for his appointment as Husbandry Advisor for the Artiodactyl Taxon Advisory Group (TAG).
TAG is a group that manages even toed herbivores like Giraffe and Antelope in the Australasian region. Mauritz says "...my role is to advise on best practice with respect to managing populations. For example, can we keep bachelor groups, what are the impacts of various actions on different sexes of differnt animal species, and what is best practice for daily animal care?"
Mauritz will remain at the Zoo as Life Sciences Manager but now he will be even busier with this excellent addition to his work load!
