Celebrate the Year of the Dog with our African wild dogs and enjoy special keeper talks at 2pm. Enter our colouring competition to go in the draw to win a wild Zoo pack.

Waitangi Weekend Natives Tour
Embrace New Zealand. Enjoy a 30 minute guided tour of our native New Zealand animals. Tours start at 11.30am and 1pm.

Behind the Scenes Kitchen Tour
Find out what really happens behind the scenes in our animal kitchen. Limited to 20 people per tour, join us on the hour from 11am - 3pm.

Valentine's Night at the Zoo - Adults only!
Enjoy a romantic evening stroll around the Zoo - no kids allowed. Wellington Zoo will be open from 6pm - 8.30pm with limited childcare available. Order a special picnic hamper from Eva Dixon's and enjoy the peace. Visit our website for more information.

Dinosaurs Rock the Zoo
Dinosaurs Rock New Zealand offers a unique interactive look into the world of dinosaurs. Check out fossilised dinosaur eggs and dinosaur poo or try your hand at gold panning or digging for fossils (small extra charge).Dress as your favourite dinosaur and go in to win a fab spot prize. 10am - 3pm

Party with Zahara the giraffe on her 2nd birthday. Her special guests The Plops will be performing live at 11am and 12pm . Guess how tall Zahara is and go in the draw to win a giraffe encounter. Special keeper talks throughout the day.

Chimp Day
Celebrate the wonder of chimpanzees. Listen to the Popsicle Band and hear chimp talks, go on guided chimp walks, check out the chimp activity sheets and bushmeat crisis displays. Visit our art auction - no Zoo entry fee - and bid for your chance to own a painting by Jesse the chimp.
