Wellington Zoo is looking for Volunteers

22 January 2008

Volunteering makes you happy and improves quality of life.

Becoming a volunteer at Wellington Zoo gives you the opportunity to share your interest in wildlife and conservation with visitors to the Zoo. It is a fun opportunity to meet and work with a wide range of people, while gaining an insight into the conservation and education. Whether you want to work indoors or out, you want to give a few hours of your time or several days a month, we would be happy to have you.  You don't need to be an expert to help, as full training is provided.  The focus of our volunteer programme is on people not animals, and there are a lot of fun and interesting things to be involved in, and every one is contributing in a positive way to the ongoing growth of the Zoo. If you have a keen interest in conservation, are good with people and can commit at least two days a month of your time we would love to hear from you. Our next orientation weekend is the weekend of February 23 and 24 2008.  To find out more please contact Gemma on gemma.stewart@wellingtonzoo.com All the good work of volunteering makes you feel great. You may find your stress level goes down, your self-esteem rises and you have a whole new group of friends. And it's also a whole lot of fun!
